Opalescent Glass Windows at Mt. Pleasant UMC in Gulfport, Mississippi
In 2011, Laws Stained Glass Studios installed (7) opalescent glass windows at the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Gulfport, MS. Each window (size 34" wide x 50" high) had a 12" round hand-stained symbol or scene from the Life of Christ. Laws' work crew removed the existing aluminum frames and installed new white aluminum frames into the brick openings. On the outside, 1/4" Lucite acrylic is used as the protective covering.
On the inside, the plaster was chipped off near the existing windows. After the windows were installed, the church re-plastered around the windows.
In 2013, the church ordered three more windows. These windows were shipped to them, and the church installed them
